1 Peter 1:13-16 KJVS
[13] Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
[14] As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
[15] But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
[16] Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
We tend to get comfortable with falling because we serve a gracious God, but this my brothers and sisters is not a good trait to hold on to. How often have we heard to phrase, “If you know better, you’ll do better”? As cliché as it may sound, it’s true. The proof is in this word. When we know the truth of our lord and savior Jesus Christ, we should no longer act the same way we did when we were ignorant. The lord has called us to be like him, he is holy. Ultimately our goal is to be like Jesus. This means being obedient and being holy as he is.
